Montgomery came to Prendick to have a lunch together, and while they were having the lunch in the Prendick's room, suddenly a scream of Puma came out of the locked door. The scream grew louder and louder as it sounded more painful. Since then, Predick asked questions to Montgomery about the things he thought suspicious about the men working with Montgomery and Moreau, but Montgomery kept trying to ignore the questions and not to answer them
